2015 Good Food Award!!!

Hey! So we're super late to the party with this news but... we won a Good Food Award! We were one of 16 coffee roasters across the country to be awarded from an original pool of 250. And we're the only winner from Nevada - ever! There were 1462 entries across 11 categories, the most ever, making the 2015 competition extremely competitive. Magpie named finalist for the 2015 Good Food Awards!

We were named a finalist for the 2015 Good Food Awards! Our roast of the Gondo Co-op (Kenya) coffee, sourced by our friends at Elephant Coffee Importers, was selected among the 206 finalists from over 1400 entries in several categories. We are so honored to be included with all the amazing companies selected this year. There are still a lot of things we want to accomplish and learn and this fuels that fire. Magpie Coffee & Great Basin Brewing Co. collaboration

That's right! We collaborated with Nevada's oldest microbrewery, Great Basin Brewing Co. to create a fabulous stout! Using their award-winning Milk Stout as a base, we added our Brazil Bob-o-link Lot 44 coffee to create a the Cowboy Coffee Stout. Their official description will be released soon but we tasted it and it has a wonderful chocolate-coffee nose from the Bob-o-link Lot 44. This continues into the taste, which has notes of roasted barley and sweet caramel sugars. Super good, if you ask us!
